3 Reasons as Cited by the Sacred Rudder that the Communion Spoon Was Introduced

We know that during the first years of Christianity, the Christians received the body of Christ in their hands. Why did the Church decide to introduce the use of a spoon for the distribution of Holy Communion? The answer to this is pointed out in the Sacred Rudder of the Canons of the Orthodox Church.
1. Heretics and superstitious people pretending to be Orthodox Christians would receive in their hands the Body of Christ and dispose of it.
2. Or they would hide it away somewhere.
3. Or they would use it for magic and cunning ceremonies.
And thus the Holy Mystery was administered directly into the mouth of the faithful.
