Only Good and Truth Make Up a True Possession

[I Thess. 2:14-19; Luke 11:23-26] He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. It turns out that one can labour an entire age and think that all sorts of good is gathered, but it is all for nothing if it was not gathered with the Lord. What does it mean to gather with the Lord? To labour and act according to faith in the Lord, according to His commandments, with the help of His grace, being inspired by His promises—to live so that the spirit of life is the spirit of Christ. In the world, there are two domains—good and evil, truth and falsehood. Only good and truth make up a true possession which is lasting and valuable, but good and truth come only from the Lord and are acquired only with His help. It is clear that he who gathers not with the Lord will not gather truth and goodness, he will not gather what could be called a true possession, which is lasting and valuable. No matter what such a person gathers, it all has no use, all is labour in vain, a vain waste of energy and time.

(1 Фес. 2, 14-19; Лк. 11, 23-26). “Кто не со Мною, тот против Меня; и кто не собирает со Мною, тот расточает”. Выходит, что можно целый век трудиться и думать, что собрано много всякого добра, а все ни к чему, коль скоро собираемо было не с Господом. Что же значит собирать с Господом? Трудиться и действовать по вере в Господа, по заповедям Его, с помощью благодати Его, воодушевляясь обетованиями Его, – жить так, чтоб духом жизни был дух Христов. Есть в мире две области – добра и зла, истины и лжи. Только добро и истина составляют настоящее имение, прочное и ценное; но добро и истина только от Господа, и приобретаются лишь с помощью Его. Понятно, кто не с Господом собирает, тот не соберет истины и добра, не соберет того, что можно назвать настоящим имением, прочным и ценным, то что ни собирал бы кто, все не в прок, все напрасный труд, напрасная трата сил и времени.
