Archbishop Clement (Vecheria) of Nezhin and Priluki MP Ukraine Speaks about the “Ecumenical Patriarch”

As reported by the portal of religious news in the Greek language, romfea.gr,  the head of the press department for the Church of the Ukraine of the Patriarchate of Moscow,

Archbishop Clement (Vecheria) of Nezhin and Priluki, believes that in the near future autocephaly will not be granted to the “so-called Patriarchate of Kiev.   Archbishop Clement went on to say that “our church never asked for autocephaly” saying that only the schismatics (Patriarchate of Kiev) did.

The “Archbishop of Nezhin” went on to say, “The Ecumenical Patriarch has no reason to give autocephaly to the Ukrainian.  He is interested in expanding his power range in general and also financially”.  Archbishop Clement went on to say that the Ukrainians love God very much and give lots of money to Greek monasteries and to Mount Athos and the Ecumenical Patriarchate knows that…so it isn’t difficult in this present situation to see the real interests of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.  Bartholomew wants to strengthen and develop the (Ecumenical) Patriarchate and he won’t give autocephaly without a profit.”
