What the enemies of Christ sought in former times…

What the enemies of Christ sought in former times...

In the early Christian centuries, whoever confessed Christ was put to death by the idolatrous kings immediately, with torture. Now, however, the persecution of Christianity—meaning Orthodoxy—is more wicked and more deceitful, and it cloaks the Orthodox Christians with talk of love and kindness. The Orthodox faith is no longer openly persecuted with torture, but rather on the basis of new dogmas and the activity of newly formed movements.

What is being pursued is the so-called “union of the churches of those called Christians,” of various beliefs and methods, under the name of love. Understanding, union, equality, dialogue, joint prayers, communication, friendship, conferences, meetings, conversations, embraces between Orthodox clerics and papists, kissing the Pope’s slipper—all these things are done so that dogmatic differences might gradually be softened, without those outside of Orthodoxy being corrected in the Orthodox faith.

This is precisely what the enemies of Christ sought in former times, and what is being contrived today by the ecumenistic “love” of the crypto-papist unionists and ecumenists.
