Lighting a Candle at the Monastery (New Website Feature)
We have added a new section to our monastery’s website today.
As many of you know, we are a self-funded brotherhood. We rely on the work of our hands—mostly incense and church supplies—to keep our monastery running. But we know that you don’t always need more incense, and sometimes you simply want to be connected to the monastery in a more prayerful way.
We have launched a category called Spiritual Offerings on MonasteryOrthodoxIncense.com.
It is a simple way for you to request that we pray for you or light a candle on your behalf here at our monastery.
What is available:
1. Handcrafted Beeswax Candles ($4-10 USD)
We are now making our own beeswax candles in our workshop using a hand-turned press. It is good, honest work. You can now request that we light one of these candles for you.
You submit your names and needs, and we light the candles in our monastery chapel. We have kept the price low (starting at $4USD) so that it is easy for anyone to do.
2. Prayer Services
If you have a specific need, you can request that we chant a particular service for you:
- Paraklesis: For the health of the living.
- Trisagion: For your departed loved ones.
- Vigil Lamp: To help us buy the oil for the lamp before our most cherished icon of the Theotokos Joy of All Who Sorrow.
Why we are doing this
This is a way for the isolated members of our diocese to maintain connection with the life of our monastery—the heart of our holy diocese. Likewise, it is a way for the friends of our diocese to stay connected with us. It gives people more ways to support our True Orthodox church and diocese.
