When Night Falls and the Light of Worldly Life Fades, What Will Remain to Warm Your Soul?
By RTOC of Western Europe’s Priest Aleksandar Radunovic
O you, who seek true meaning in a world often cold and soulless, where will your heart find peace that does not depend on this world?
Can you tell me, where does that love hide—a love that asks for nothing in return, that knows no bounds, and reflects the very mercy of God?
Imagine a moment when your heart opens, when every part of you yearns to reach out to your neighbor, to offer warmth and comfort, seeking nothing more than a smile and tranquility in the eyes of the one you served.
What would the world look like if every heart were filled with this love—a love that is, in itself, a prayer, striving with all its being for the good of others?
Who will be the first to feel their heart begin to burn when they realize that love is not merely a word, but an act, a giving of oneself without reservation?
Can you feel, deep within your being, what it would be like to give yourself completely, to love not because you must, but because your heart cannot do otherwise?
Where will you find the strength to love when this world disappoints you, when it seems that love has lost its value?
But imagine, just imagine, how your soul will blossom when you choose to love unconditionally—to love someone who cannot love you back, to offer warmth even to those who are cold toward you.
How will your heart feel a profound peace when it realizes that the love you give is, in fact, the love you receive from God, pouring through you as light that illuminates all around you?
Picture the moment when you stand before the Lord, and He says to you, “You loved as I have loved you.”
How will your soul soar when you understand that every small joy you brought to someone’s heart, every tear you wiped away, every little good you did, now shines before God’s eyes as the greatest triumph of love?
Where does love hide?
It does not hide far away, but in every act of kindness, in every smile you gave, in every word of comfort you spoke. Love is within you, in your decision to reflect God’s light in this world.
Unveil, if you can, the mystery of this love that seeks not its own, and why it is the path to the deepest peace and joy in the Lord.
Therefore, let us love one another, for in love, we find Christ Himself.
With prayer and blessing,
☦️ Priest Aleksandar
