The Woman as a Pillar
By Priest Aleksandar Radunovic
The woman is the pillar of every nation, for through her purity, virtuous life, and dedication to the God-given roles, she becomes the moral guardian of her home and the entire people. Her meekness, her faithfulness to the truth and love of God not only uplift the family but also build the spiritual foundations of the nation. When a woman is chaste, when her life is aligned with God’s commandments, through her quiet and unwavering example, she raises generations that know the path of virtue, honesty, and righteousness.
A woman who lives according to God’s will, adorned with virtues such as love, humility, patience, and obedience, becomes a living icon of God’s wisdom and tenderness. Through her, the home becomes a sanctuary, children are taught the fear of God, and the nation gains spiritual roots that sustain it in times of trial. A virtuous woman is a silent force that protects the nation from moral decay, for it is she, as a mother, educator, and wife, who shapes the future through the example of virtue and holiness.
However, just as a woman can uplift a nation with her virtues, she is also capable of destroying even the strongest foundations with her immorality. When a woman strays from purity and virtue, when she allows her life to be led by the passions of this world, she becomes a destructive wave that sweeps away not only the family but the entire people. For if the root of the family is rotten, what will the fruits be? If the woman, who is the guardian of the home, falls into the traps of immorality, the nation is left without spiritual protection.
A woman who lives in sin, who rejects the sanctity of family and the virtuous life, becomes the cause of moral collapse, for her deviation from God’s path affects everyone around her. Her fall is not only her personal one but the fall of future generations, for she no longer raises them in the fear of God but in the spirit of this world. Thus, the nation disintegrates, rotting from within, for where there is no virtue, the kingdom of sin and destruction arises.
Therefore, a woman is called to be a beacon of virtue, a pillar that supports the entire nation through her moral and spiritual life. For just as the nation can grow in holiness and righteousness through her, it can also sink into darkness and ruin through her immorality and departure from the truth.
